John - The Vine

This week we continue our series in the Book of John as Jesus tells His disciples, "I Am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener." We learn that the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, is not something we produce through our own effort, because our only job is to remain in Christ while God does the work of pruning and growing. We are reminded that we are already clean because of the word Jesus has spoken to us, and that apart from Him we can do nothing, but as we abide in Him the fruit that comes gives glory to our heavenly Father.
